Hand-Painted Furniture for a Log Cabin

In a blue shade with patina and motifs of meadow flowers.

I helped one family bring to life their dream of living in a log cabin.
All the furniture is sustainable, made of wood, custom-built, and of course hand-painted, including all the motifs. Solid wood furniture built to last a lifetime.

I painted the furniture according to the customers’ wishes, with the main motifs being poppies and cornflowers. Everything is tuned to a beautiful shade of blue with patina for a touch of antiquity.
The colorful furniture gave the cabin a wonderful charm and visually separated it from the wooden walls, preventing it from looking dull or blending into the background.

The kitchen bench was custom-made at 60 cm depth on the longer side, so the owner could even take a nap on it. The backrest is slightly curved for extra comfort when sitting, and the storage space inside holds plenty of items.
The table is equipped with a beechwood top for added durability and a practical drawer to store pencils, paper for notes, or shopping lists.

The children’s room is furnished with two separate beds, a nightstand, and a table with two chairs.

The hand-painted motifs on the ground floor differ slightly from those upstairs. In the bathroom, the motifs are in harmony with the tile pattern on the floor.

Upon entering the house, you are welcomed by hand-painted furniture in the hallway, including a painted wardrobe wall for hanging coats.

Painted kitchen

In mint shade with white patina

I painted this beautiful country-style kitchen at the customer’s request in a blue-green shade, sanded through to a white patina. I had the color mixed especially to match a fabric the owner brought me.
The rose motif was also painted upon her request to match the ceramic handles she had already purchased, and I painted the same motif on a few tiles as a backsplash behind the countertop.

In combination with old rose accents and stained trims and baseboards in rustic oak, everything came together beautifully to the customer’s satisfaction.
For easier maintenance, she chose a laminate countertop in Sonoma oak shade.
The cabinets and hand-painted motifs are finished with lacquer for long-lasting durability and effortless care.

Painted kitchen

In a green shade with brown patina

I painted this beautiful country-style kitchen at the customer’s request in her favorite green shade, which she had spotted in one of my FB posts, and sanded it into a brown patina for an antique look.
She wished for a motif of forget-me-nots and staining in rustic oak shade, while also choosing a Sonoma oak laminate countertop for easy maintenance.

A special feature is a custom-made shelf designed specifically for glass food jars, which the owner provided to the carpenter, as well as a corner cabinet for the built-in extractor hood.
The kitchen is beautifully complemented by a custom-made dining set – a bench, chairs, and a table with a drawer, featuring a gorgeous solid oak tabletop stained to match the laminate countertop of the kitchen.

Everything is lacquered for long-lasting durability and easy care, making even the hand-painted forget-me-not motifs washable.

Painted kitchen

In a blue-cream shade with white patina

I painted this beautiful country-style kitchen at the customer’s request in a blue-cream shade, sanded through to a white patina.
The customer visited me directly in my studio, where we selected the color shades together.
At her request, I incorporated motifs of tits, meadow flowers such as cornflowers, daisies, and tiny blue blossoms.

The worktop is made of beech, stained in a honey shade to match the wall cladding of the log house, and treated with hardwax oil. It requires regular care.
To complement the kitchen, I also painted a custom-made sideboard, crafted by the carpenter to match the height of the upper cabinets.

Painted bathroom

In a blue shade with white patina

With wooden furniture in the bathroom, you certainly can’t go wrong. Compared to chipboard, it will last many times longer. It elevates your bathroom to an entirely new level, just like this country-style bathroom.
Since the walls already had a bold rose tile design and striking blue-and-white ceramic basins, I chose a subtle décor for the furniture instead of painting – created with texture paste and sanded through to a white patina.

The vanity cabinet under the sinks is very practical, offering plenty of storage for personal items. The tall cabinet (so-called “vertigo”) provides additional space for towels and more, with its depth making it ideal for placement behind the door.
The countertop beneath the basins is made of luxurious oak wood with a beautiful grain pattern. Everything is treated to resist moisture and water. The furniture is complemented with ceramic knobs in antique brass with a cracked porcelain finish.
The country style is highlighted further with a hand-patinated blue-and-gold robe hook and a toilet paper holder.

Painted study / Painted home office

In vintage green with brown patina

This beautiful study was created exactly to the requirements of the owner, who wished for a fox and robins to be painted. The desk was carefully measured, including a drawer, with the request to extend the sides of the desk and tabletop so that the drawer would not be visible from the side.
Another requirement was a hidden drawer for a scanner and soft-close runners. In addition, a cabinet with a shelf above the desk was designed.

The customer was very satisfied, as her study now allows her not only to work but also to relax.
She gained the most beautiful painted study in the world – truly original, custom-made, and created exactly according to her dream.

Painted hallway / Painted entrance hall

In a cream shade

The hallway is the calling card of every home. For this cottage, the customer requested a bench with storage space and a coat wall with a mirror, behind which the fuse box is hidden. There is also a small table for keys and other small items. The shoe cabinet is cleverly concealed in a wardrobe.
This makes the hallway both practical and clean in appearance.

The motif was a bit of a challenge for me, as the customer wished it to be composed of an oak leaf, its acorn, a flower, and the fruit of a wild strawberry.
How it turned out, you can see for yourself in the gallery.

A Very Special Project and Challenge in Strážnice

This customer already owned some of my painted furniture, and this time she asked me to create pieces for the guest room, as the traditional festivities were approaching and it was important to welcome guests properly.
The carpenter made the furniture, and I was faced with the challenge of deciding on the right color and décor. The customer simply told me she would leave it up to me.

Since the walls of the room were decorated with bold Strážnice folk ornaments, I was hesitant to paint detailed motifs on the furniture, as it could have felt too overwhelming. At the same time, the room itself was rather small and dark. In the end, we agreed on a soft yellow shade with white patina and a delicate white folk pattern, which I applied through a stencil using texture paste.

The tabletop, base, and cornice were stained in a walnut shade, beautifully connecting the furniture with the floor and the wall ornaments, while also brightening the space.
The finishing touch was a hand-painted tray with a rooster motif, serving as a charming functional accessory or decoration.

Painted sideboards / Painted cupboards

New and refurbished

Alongside a chest, a sideboard or cupboard is another beautiful piece of furniture that fits perfectly into your home as a statement piece, bringing life to your interior, whether in the kitchen or the living room.
In a painted version, it becomes a stunning piece with plenty of space for storing fine porcelain.

Sideboards are very popular, and it’s up to you what style, design, or size you choose—or you can find inspiration on our website. We will be happy to make and paint them for you.
And if you already own a sideboard and are tired of its plain wooden look, there’s nothing better than giving it a brand-new painted appearance.

Painted dining room

Just like at grandma’s

These dining sets are made for gathering with family over good food.
Corner benches can be customized to the dimensions you need, including the tables.
For the tables, we recommend a solid top made of beech, oak, ash, or other hardwoods.

At your request, the table can be fitted with a drawer where you can keep a notebook, pencil, or crossword puzzles.
A painted drawer together with turned legs makes this table an absolutely unique rustic piece.
Our table tops also feature a milled edge for an elegant look and comfortable support for your arms.
